The presence of diplomatic representatives, investment promotion organizations, and leading domestic enterprises underscores the strong interest in the role of air logistics in Vietnam’s national economic development.

Vision for Developing Extended Air Logistics Infrastructure and Free Trade Zones

Opening the event, Mr. Nguyen Duc Trung – Economist and Independent Advisor to Minh Triet Capital – presented notable data indicating that Vietnam’s GDP grew by 7.1% in 2024, driven by strong FDI inflows and exports. He emphasized that to maintain double-digit growth from 2026 onward, new growth drivers are essential, with extended air logistics infrastructure and a free trade ecosystem playing a pivotal role.

He highlighted breakthrough opportunities arising from strategic initiatives such as Ho Chi Minh City’s International Financial Center, the Long Thành Airport City, and the development of free trade zones. Logistics serves as the “lifeblood” of value chains, enhancing Vietnam’s competitiveness and global supply chain position.

Building an International-Standard Extended Air Logistics Ecosystem

Speaking at the event, Mr. Mai Xuan Hung – CEO and Board Member of SGMI – stated that Vietnam is entering a “golden era” as a regional manufacturing and export hub.

However, he noted that Vietnam lacks internationally qualified air logistics enterprises, creating challenges for the competitiveness of Vietnamese goods in the global market. This presents an opportunity for SGMI to take the lead and fulfill its strategic mission.

SGMI has established a long-term vision with the following goals:

  • Investing in critical extended air logistics infrastructure
  • Building an air logistics enterprise capable of competing regionally
  • Helping Vietnamese goods access global markets faster, at lower cost, and with higher safety assurance
